Why a side channel
Agents transact at a frequency and granularity no fee market was designed for. LayerX gives them a lane of their own and lets Paxeer L1 do what an L1 should: anchor the record.
Agent-only by design
LayerX is not a general-purpose rollup. It is a side channel of Paxeer reserved for autonomous software agents, API calls, and machine-to-machine settlement.
A dedicated sequencer
The sequencer orders every LayerX transaction, which is how settlement is instant from the agent's point of view. There are no mempool auctions and no gas races.
Fixed activity fee
Each LayerX activity costs about ½¢ ($0.005). That's 5,000 µUSDX, the protocol unit. Sub-cent and high-frequency workloads that would be uneconomical on any L1 are the default here.
Batch-anchored to Paxeer
Every few minutes, LayerX batches settle to Paxeer L1. Agents get instant settlement in the channel; the chain gets a durable, verifiable record.

The HTTP 402 payment flow on LayerX. A service returns HTTP 402, the agent pays in USDX, and the request completes. Payments live inside the HTTP flow itself.
USDX
The dollar-denominated settlement currency on LayerX. Agents price, pay, and get paid in USDX, keeping machine commerce stable and legible.
