Decisions the whole network can watch
Every parameter that affects your money is set by a vote you can read, and a vote closes in an hour instead of a quarter.
Nothing about Paxeer X changes in a back room. Fee levels, which coins pay gas, which markets open, when the network upgrades: each is a proposal on chain, decided by PAX holders on a fixed clock.
If you run software that spends money without a person in the loop, you need to know that the ground will not move under it. On Paxeer X the ground can move, but only in daylight. A change to the fee schedule, a new trading market, a paused feature or a network upgrade is a proposal anyone can read, voted on by PAX holders, and applied by the chain itself at the height the vote names. There is no operator switch behind the scenes.
The fee your agent pays tomorrow is a number you can look up today, with the vote that set it.
What a vote decides
- Gas floors and the fee table for every kind of transaction
- Which coins pay gas, and the PAX to SID rate
- New perpetual and spot markets, and their risk parameters
- The attestor sets behind paid web search and the bridges
- Per-chain bridge caps and pauses
- Pausing a single feature while the rest keeps running
- The keys that sign your receipts
- Named upgrades, each tied to a block height
How a proposal moves
- 01
Someone posts it, with a deposit
A proposal states exactly which parameter changes to what, or which upgrade activates at which height. A PAX deposit keeps the queue honest.
- 02
Voting opens for one hour
Validators and PAX holders vote yes, no, abstain or veto. Weight follows stake. An expedited proposal, for an urgent pause or fix, closes in twenty minutes.
- 03
The chain applies the result
If it passes, the change takes effect on chain without anyone deploying anything. An upgrade waits for its named height, and every node switches over at the same block.
- 04
The record stays
The proposal, the tally and the moment it applied are part of the chain's history, visible in PaxScan for as long as the network exists.
Two speeds
| Track | Voting window | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 1 hour | Fee changes, new markets, attestor changes, scheduled upgrades |
| Expedited | 20 minutes | Pausing a feature under attack, rotating a compromised key |
An hour is long enough for every validator to read a proposal and short enough that the network can respond to the real world the same afternoon. Compare that with a bank's product committee or a token project whose parameters are whatever the founders deployed.
Why this matters if you build here
Pauses are surgical. Governance can halt new positions in one market, or one bridge, while payments, programs and everything else keep running. Exits are never paused: a trader can always close, a user can always withdraw. Your agent's budgets and session keys are unaffected by any of it, because those are yours to set, not the network's.
No parameter that touches your funds changes without a recorded vote and a date the whole network can see in advance. If you want a say in those votes, hold and stake PAX, or delegate it to a validator you trust.
